Roof Cleaning in Ascot
Natural slate and clay plain tile on Ascot's large period properties benefit from careful biocide cleaning — a soft-wash approach that removes moss and lichen without disturbing the material or loosening tile nibs. Legacy Roofing carries out professional roof cleaning across Ascot and Sunningdale, with algaecide follow-up on the most shaded and damp-prone pitches.
North-facing pitches on Ascot's large detached houses — particularly those set in substantial wooded gardens — can accumulate significant lichen growth on natural slate. Lichen requires a proper biocide treatment and a dwell period before removal, rather than scraping, and we manage this process correctly on each property.

Roof Cleaning in Ascot — FAQs
Our soft-wash approach does not. High-pressure washing can lift tiles and mortar — we use low-pressure biocide cleaning specifically to avoid this.
Treatment duration varies with the exposure and shade of the roof. Most treatments remain effective for several years before regrowth becomes significant.
Moss growth alone does not indicate a roof needs replacing. After cleaning we assess the condition of the tiles and give you an honest view of the roof's remaining life.
