Yes. Call Steve on 07707460710 and describe the situation. We respond to active water ingress, storm-stripped tiles, and fallen chimney pots as priority jobs and will advise immediately on what to do while we travel to you.

We work with natural Welsh slate, fibre cement slate, clay plain tile, concrete interlocking tile, and the full range of ridge, hip, and valley materials. For flat roofs we install GRP fibreglass, EPDM rubber, and torch-on mineral felt. Lead we work with to correct Code specifications — Code 4, 5, and 6 as appropriate.

Yes. We are experienced in the material specification requirements and planning sensitivities of conservation area and listed building work — natural slate, lime mortar, correct Code lead, clay plain tile, and cast-iron-effect guttering where required. We advise on planning requirements as part of every survey on a period property.

Yes — we arrange scaffolding as part of the project and include it in the quote. For London projects we also manage the footpath licence required from the relevant borough.

In most cases yes. We carry a range of common profiles and have trade supplier relationships that cover period and reclaimed tiles as well as current production profiles. We will advise if a precise match is not achievable before work begins.

Yes. We carry out soft-wash biocide roof cleaning — manual moss scraping followed by a low-pressure biocide wash and optional long-duration algaecide treatment. We do not offer high-pressure washing, which can displace tiles and mortar.

Most home insurance policies cover storm damage. We can document the cause and extent of damage in plain terms that support your claim. Call us on 07707460710 as soon as damage is discovered.

A dry-ridge system mechanically fixes ridge tiles to the roof structure without mortar, eliminating the freeze-thaw erosion cycle that causes mortar-bedded ridges to fail. It is more durable than mortar bedding long-term and also improves roof-space ventilation. We recommend it where a mortar ridge has been a recurring maintenance issue.

This depends on the system. A properly installed GRP fibreglass roof can have an extremely long service life; EPDM and torch-on mineral felt systems installed to specification also give many years of performance. We advise on system choice as part of the quotation so you understand the expected life of what you are buying.

The most common causes are failed mortar joints in the external chimney stack allowing water to track down into the breast, deteriorated lead flashings at roof level, or a cracked or missing chimney pot allowing water into the flue. Sometimes it is a combination of all three. We diagnose the cause before recommending a fix.
